Product Details

What is the CAM Boot Air Walker?

The Controlled Ankle Movement or CAM Boot by Conwell is designed for support and comfort following trauma or post-operative procedures in the ankle or foot.

After you had an injury or surgery at your ankle or foot, it's important to ensure it is immobilised and protected to enable recovery. Engineered with front and back panels and soft foam with breathable lining for comfort and protection for your leg, this versatile moon boot is an ideal option to protect a fragile foot and ankle. It can be custom fit with air pressure.

Indications for a moon boot

The Cam Boot Air Walker has been designed to provide protection, comfort and swelling control. It is suitable for the following injuries:

  • Acute ankle sprains
  • Ankle breaks and fractures
  • Foot breaks and fractures
  • Toe breaks and fractures
  • Post surgery (ankle, foot or toe)
  • Metatarsal stress breaks and fractures
  • Soft tissue injuries

This walker boot can also help with the recovery and rehabilitation of fractures of bones in the foot, only when healing has proceeded to a certain degree. We recommend you ask your doctor when to use the walker after surgical intervention.

Protection, stability and comfort

Providing proper protection is key to recovery after injury or surgery. Thanks to the anterior and posterior rigid shell, this Cam Boot provides an excellent level of stabilisation and support and makes it comfortable to wear.

It is the ideal mix of protection and comfort, helping reduce chances of aggravating the injury without compromising on the wearability.

Warnings/Precautions

  • If you experience any pain, swelling, sensation changes, or any unusual reactions while using this product, consult your doctor immediately.
  • Do not overinflate the air cells. Improper aircell-inflation can cause significant irritation in patients with diabetic neuropathy. Reduce air cell compression with any visual skin changes or reported discomfort.
  • Do not use this boot on patients incapable of communicating physical discomfort. Patients without sensation (ie: post-op anesthesia, neuropathies, etc.) should be monitored frequently for “hot spots”, skin irritation or wound management.
  • Use caution when walking on slippery or wet surfaces to avoid injury.
  • At high altitudes, the air cells will expand beyond an optimal level. Adjust aircell-pressure by tightening or loosening the straps.
  • Always consult with your healthcare professional before making changes to the brace.
  • Always inspect before use. Check for broken stitches or parts; torn, cut or frayed material; or buckles, or hook and loop fasteners that do not hold securely.
  • Do not use damaged product. Discontinue use when torn, worn, frayed in any way.
